Candle making involves real risk

Candle making uses heat, open flame and fragrance oils. Hot wax burns, wicks light, and fragrance oils have their own hazards. Work in a clear, safe space. Keep melts and flames away from children, pets, and anything that can catch. Never leave a melting pot or a burning candle unattended. You are responsible for your own safety and for the safety of anyone around you.

Treat every number as a starting point to test

The guidance, the figures, and the wick suggestions in both products are starting points for you to test. None of them is a guaranteed result.

A candle changes with your wax, your fragrance oil, your jar, your room, and even the batch. A wick or a fragrance load that works in one setup can be wrong in another. Treat every number as a place to begin, then test and adjust for your own materials.

Follow your suppliers, and test burn

Always follow the technical spec sheets and the safety data sheets (SDS) from your own suppliers for the exact wax, wick, fragrance oil and container you use. Their limits come first, over anything in our products.

Test burn every new recipe yourself before you sell a candle, gift one, or leave one to burn. There is no substitute for your own test.
